With McPhizzle still out of our line-up, Connie and Finny were joined by fellow HLOGger Sherry (http://scarlettice.blogspot.com) for portions of this podcast. They talk about the Great SoCal Blogger Convention that took place at the Honda Center during the Ducks vs. Kings game. They go on to recap games against SJ, DAL, and PHX. Our big stories around the league is kind of dry, as news is largely focused on who’s snatching up playoff spots and we’re saving all playoff talk until next week. Connie waxes poetic on a couple of pretty goals before we jump into our Off Ice segment with Sherry chiming in on the fun.

As always, please send your questions and comments to imnotapuckbunny@gmail.com!

Connie & Finny provide the latest updates on the Ducks and Kings as they spent the last week facing off against DAL, SJ, and PHX. Without McPhizzle, the duo was unable to provide an update on the Sharks. Their big stories covers all the latest injuries happening around the league and leads into a discussion of the QMJHL’s suspension of Patrick Roy and son Jonathan Roy. The podcast ends with various humorous sound clips recorded live from the Kings @ Ducks game (March 26, 2007) with commentary from special guests KMS2 of Purple Crushed Velvet, Earl Sleek and RudyKelly of the Battle of California.

NOTE: In the excitement of moment, Finny calls out that she loves her Swedish goaltender. The next day, Finny realized that “her goaltender” Jonas Hiller is not, in fact, Swedish but Swiss. Oops.

The exceptionally funny comment from Earl Sleek calling out, “Heil HILLER” got cut off because Finny couldn’t figure out how to make Garageband quit cutting out her audio.  :(

Conny & Finny had difficulty finding McPhizzle in time for this particular podcast, so they recorded this episode without their third hockey-stooge.  The SoCal duo recapped the Ducks and Kings games against PHX, VAN, STL, NSH, MIN, and SJ.  Peppered with some good-natured ribbing, the girls delved into all the latest suspensions being doled out like candy around the league over the last week, and spent considerable time debating the Chris Pronger stomping suspension.  They touch on the league’s plans to have two season opening games overseas in Europe and reflect on its effect on their respective teams following the London opener from earlier this season.  After that, it’s into the MAILBAG for some humorous reading before the girls resort to making up their own questions.

Your questions and comments are more than welcome.  Email us at imnotapuckbunny@gmail.com.

Despite a full-on HOST of technical difficulties, Connie & Finny were set on proving the old adage that when there’s a will, there’s a way. Dang it. Having tried to record this podcast unsuccessfully for hours on end, the girls finally resorted to a long, arduous method of getting this podcast done (even if it meant working hard through the wee hours of the morning and skimping on our beauty rest).

WARNING: DUE TO THE METHOD OF RECORDING, FINNY’S VOICE IS QUITE (i.e. very) LOUD WHILE CONNIE’S IS QUITE (i.e. very) LOW.  PLEASE CHECK YOUR AUDIO SETTINGS.

This week, Connie & Finny talk about the Ducks’ and Kings’ recent games against CHI, COL, MTL, OTT, & VAN.  A special (read: funny) email update from McPhizzle provides a recap on the Sharks’ games against OTT, CHI, & MIN.  Big stories were centered on anger management and the players who need it (TB’s Andre Roy and NYR’s Sean Avery are highlighted this week), Foppa’s not-at-all-surprising latest injury, FL’s Chad Kilger’s absence from his team, and an answer to the question: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE A CANADIAN TO BAKE?  Our Off Ice segment returns this week with emphasis on the coming St. Patrick’s Holiday.

Shoutouts & laughs included.

Delirium, hysteria, general confusion and mispronunciation of names ensues as the hour grows later, so consider yourselves forewarned.  (This podcast was recorded between 12 midnight and 2:45am).  In an effort to conserve space, this podcast has been uploaded in a .m4a format (previous episodes were .mp3).  If you have trouble accessing this episode, please subscribe to the feed using iTunes (or whatever subscriber you use), download the episode by clicking on the link provided, or email us and let us know you’re having issues.  We’ll do our best to help you out.

NOTE: next week, we’ll go back into our MAILBAG.  Please email us at imnotapuckbunny@gmail.com.

- At the end, Finny says that at least Tampa Bay still has a chance to make the playoffs.  Now that she’s slept some, she looked @ the numbers and realizes that they’d need a super-impressive (and highly unlikely) record to do that.

Connie & Finny were joined by Teebz of Hockey Blog in Canada for this episode. They talk about the Ducks, Sharks, and Kings taking on CHI, CGY, OTT, PIT, CBJ, DET, STL, MTL, EDM, COL, & MIN. They skip over Forsberg’s debut and Crosby’s return before diving into more detail discussing Jack Johnson’s hit on Ryan Smyth, Mathieu Garon’s impressive SO stat, Chad Kilger’s suspension, and their individual opinions on blowout games. They wrap the podcast up with a new segment called Mailbag, featuring an email that sparks a lengthy, detailed discourse on the definition, qualifications, and evolution of the “puck bunny”.

Listeners are encouraged to email their opinions, thoughts and feedback to imnotapuckbunny@gmail.com

Shoutouts also included (including a correction: Desoronto Storm is a Jr. A hockey team, not a Jr. B team).

*McPhizzle experienced technical difficulties prior to recording this podcast and Teebz filled in with an impromptu Sharks update on her behalf.

Connie & Finny got together for a special podcast focusing on the trade deadline.  They focus on grading the moves made by the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings’ GMs, and touch on the winners and losers of the big deals that sent Marian Hossa to the ‘Burgh, Brad Richards to Dallas, and Brian Campbell to the Sharks.  Also discussed: Anaheim and Los Angeles’ first ever deal, Vaclav Prospal to the city of brotherly love, and the surprise trade that doled out Cristobal Huet to the Capitals at a bargain price.

The trio gathers while still tired and sleep-deprived to review the busy week behind the Ducks, Sharks, and Kings wherein they faced off against DAL, CGY, COL, STL, PHX, EDM, NYI, NYR, NJ, & PHI. They talk about some trade rumors floating around their teams, send condolences to the family and friends of Windsor Spitfire captain & Flames draft pick Mickey Renaud, and cap it all off with a ‘nerdy installment’ of Off Ice. Shoutouts included.

The Fangirls invite listeners to email them any questions and comments at imnotapuckbunny@gmail.com in preparation for their next podcast.

Connie & Finny welcomed mutual friend KMS2 to the podcast for some laughs and discussion about the Ducks and Kings. We recap the last half of both teams’ road trips, talk about the big stories around the league, touch on trade rumors regarding our respective teams and wrap up with a humorous OFF ICE segment done in the spirit of the season (Valentine’s).

NOTE: at the end of the podcast, Finny says “he leads the team in points”. She really meant, “he leads the team in goals.” :)
