Connie and Finny went McP-less this week but brought in Steph from http://npi-hockey.blogspot.com and Cat from http://untypicalgirls.wordpress.com to talk about the first round of playoffs and to preview round two. Before they kick off the wrap-ups for the Conference Quarterfinals, Connie updates everyone on non-playoff news including the nominees for the Vezina, the Norris, and the Calder trophy. After dishing about the quarterfinals, the girls delve into the previews for the second round which features the teams of both of our guests!

Connie and Finny tackle the Playoff conference quarterfinals as all series were underway league-wide. After a brief update on the happenings for non-playoff teams, the girls dive into the Eastern and Western Conference Quarterfinals with the help of our special guests, Elise from http://18568reasonswhy.blogspot.com (reppin’ Minne) and Christina (Lucky13) from http://somelikeitblue.blogspot.com (reppin’ NYR). After talking about each of the Eastern series with a spotlight on the NJ/NYR, the fangirls laugh at Sean Avery (as per usual) for his antics in front of Marty Brodeur while Christina attempted to defend him. A discussion about the Western Conference series follows with emphasis on the MIN/COL and ANA/DAL series. The girls wind down with a brief roundhouse discussion on the refereeing in the playoffs as well as the scheduling of NHL games in the States.

Lastly, there’s a quick update on the Squee Cup standings for the HLOGgers (plus guests).

**NOTE: Finny indicated that during Game 1, Anaheim fans were not allowed to watch warm-ups at the glass, but forgot to mention that the management reversed the decision to allow fans to support the team during warm-ups for Game 2.

With the regular season behind them, the Cup Craze is ready to sweep through INAPB HQ.  Connie and Finny were joined by fellow HLOGgers Cat (from Untypical Girls) and Acid Queen (from Sweet Tea, BBQ, and Body Checks) to talk about each of the first round match ups and make their picks.  In addition, a humorous twist on the traditional playoff brackets gets the fangirls talking about the players that earn their SQUEE!  It’s a fun-filled hour that features a wee bit of verbal sparring between Dallas fan Cat and Anaheim loyalist Finny.
